A stay at Dewalokam is a truly unique way to relax and unwind in our peaceful and unspoiled heaven. Enjoy our home grown produce freshly cooked as you sample gourmet traditional Keralan food and join the professional chefs in our state-of-the-art kitchen in informal learn-to-cook sessions.
Ours is a working farm, run on organic and eco principles, where you will not only be welcomed by the warmest of Keralan families, but will also be able to help the local community and the planet. Our water is heated with solar power, vegetables grown with home-made compost, chickens and goats fed on vegetable waste and methane from our cows manure is recovered to provide gas for cooking.
Making A Difference :Sustainable Travel is the motto of Dewalokam. Bio-diversity is maintained with the help of choice ayurvedic herbals.The organic waste is recycled with the help of fish, fowls and animals and a compost unit. Cooking gas is produced with the help of a biogas plant and solar energy is tapped for the water heating .It supports local community by directly employing 18 villagers.

Forest Trekking - Trekking through the tropical forest right across the river is another interesting activity. You will be listening to a lot of birds, such as mynahs, tronquos, thrushes, seven sisters, and occasionally to a hornbill. An area in the forest with thousands and thousands of huge fruit bats hanging upside down from the branches of tall trees reminds one, of the Jurassic Park. When disturbed they screech and fly in thousands filling the air with their wing flaps.
Rafting - Punting on a bamboo raft in the river at Dewalokam is very pleasing to the eyes and ears. While you are moving on a raft very slowly in the river you will be enveloped on all sides by rich lushly growing greenery. There will be a lot of birds like cormorants and kingfishers on the trees, creepers and climbers that overhang into the river from all sides.
Gardening - One could also participate in the gardening and farming work at Dewalokam. The various animals and birds and fish at Dewalokam help the guest unwind himself as he moves along the labyrinth of trekking path in the farm. One may even partake in the activities at the farm, planting or maintaining the numerous flowering plants at Dewalokam.
Waterfalls - The famous Thommankuthu waterfall is only ten kilometers from Dewalokam. One has to trek one kilometer in the forest to reach the waterfalls, after reaching Thommankuthu by car. Huge trees which are hundreds of years old can be seen on both sides of the trekking path. Several small waterfalls also can be seen in addition to the impeccable seven step cascade.
Honey bees - There are several beehives in the farm at Dewalokam. With the help of the staff one may watch how the bees are raised or how honey is collected. One may also see how the rubber trees are tapped or how the rubber sheet is produced.
Spice walk - A walk through the spice and herbal garden, and getting acquainted with various spices and ayurvedic herbs in the organic farm is both relaxing and educative. The collection of rare ayurvedic herbals is really interesting to the guest.
Yoga - We offer authentic yoga classes for the spiritual and the physical well being and rejuvenation.
Ayurveda - Dewalokam Ayurvedic Farm Resort is keen on giving the guests the most ayurvedic treatment.
Angling - One may even angle the fish in the river or in the two fish pods at Dewalokam.

You will be amazed at how easily you can get to Dewalokam. It is as close to Cochin International Airport as Fort Kochi and easily reached in around 90 minutes by taxi, which can be pre arranged to meet you. We can also arrange a taxi if you are coming from another resort.
Dewalokam is well connected wth all the major destinations in Kerala.You can leave any of them after breakfast and comfortably reach Dewalokam before lunch time. You will get Public Transport Buses from anywhere in Kerala to THODUPUZHA, 15 kms from Dewalokam. From Thodupuzha get into buses that run through Kaliyar and get down at Chalackamukku. Hire a tuk tuk and pay Rs 60 to reach Dewalokam. On request,we arrange taxi or pick up and drop at a reasonable rate for our guest
